When you’re just starting music production it can be hard to know where to look for free learning resources. Below are my favorite free resources to learn how beats are made, mixing/mastering techniques, plugins, sound design, and more!
- Sage Audio
- Home Studio Corner
- J. Rent
- Simon Servida
- Finna Finesse
- White Sea Studio
Sage Audio
Sage Audio is the best place to learn about mixing, mastering, and overall the terms that are used in music production. What is limiting? What does compression do? EQing vocal busses? The list goes on!
Check out Sage Audio to really learn the different techniques used throughout music production.
Home Studio Corner
Home Studio Corner has information on everything music production-related! Room treatment, mixing/mastering, quantizing, recording, and more.
The videos go through many common mistakes and issues music producers run into and have a lot of helpful solutions and tips!

J. Rent creates tutorial-style videos showing how to create beats based on artists’ styles or genres. Want to learn how to make a Juice WRLD type beat? Maybe a Boom Bap or UK Drill beats? This is the channel for you! From beats, genres, styles, lyrics, and more – he’s got it all!
Simon Servida
Simon Servida is a fantastic music producer that makes producing beats look easy! He talks through his process and has many tips & tricks videos for FL Studio. Simon is a classically trained pianist and shares his knowledge of theory with us to give a different perspective to creating beats.

White Sea Studio
White Sea Studio is the place to learn about using analog gear and how plugins affect audio signals. Wytse (the owner) also talks about mixing and mastering techniques too!
White Sea Studios has a lot of reviews on different plugins, but not in the traditional sense of a review. Wytse goes into detail on how the plugin affects the audio and how and where it could be used in a track!
